This is Home

Home is a hard thing to describe. Is it made of wood and bricks? Sure. Does it have windows and doors? Of course. But is that what home is?

Home is so much more than simply the products comprised to build it. Home is the keeper of our memories, the backdrop for our good times and bad.  It provides shelter, happiness and a sanctuary for those who live in it.

We want to know – what is home to you?

Stop Searching, Start Living!

“Is this model for sale?”  In my new homes sales career, this was probably the question I received more than any other.  After all, S&A Homes’ model homes are packed to the gills with custom touches such as high-end window treatments, upgraded hardwood flooring, gourmet kitchen layouts and stainless steel appliances.

There aren’t too many people that could argue the fact that moving into a model home is one of the most ideal ways to experience new construction.  No worries about what color paint to choose, no lack of ideas on how to Read More

Affordability + Amenities = Winning Combination

Any resident of State College, Pennsylvania, Penn State’s home town located in the heart of Happy Valley, can quickly recite all of the unique aspects that make the area so special.  Top rated-schools and a close-knit community with world class amenities, shopping, and dining are just some of the aspects that frequently propel State College to the top of the Best Places to Live list. The continual growth of industry in the Centre region along with job stability boosted by Penn State University help support the strong housing market in this area.

Thus, it is a rare find to pick up a new home that features all of today’s modern amenities from the $170’s.  In fact, outside of S&A’s most popular new home community, The Landings, it is virtually impossible to find a family-friendly community located just minutes from downtown State College that features such affordable prices.

This Sunday (11/14), from 1-3, home shoppers can get a peak at two brand new quick-delivery homes in The Landings.  Whether you are a first-time purchaser, a Read More

S&A Homes Launches Nation’s First Zero Energy Home

Imagine living in a home with $0 energy bills.  Sound far-fetched?  While the technology may be a few years away, S&A Homes, along with the Pittsburgh-based IBACOS group are teaming up in the Cobblestone community in Ohio Township, PA to create a livable home that utilizes renewable energy sources and the latest technologies to produce as much energy as it consumes, creating a “net zero” energy home.

The project, expected to be completed in late 2010 will simulate a real family living in the home to monitor energy usage and provide useful data that can be used to develop new products and eventually integrate such technologies into the home of tomorrow.

The project is expected to set the bar for future homebuilders in terms of combining energy efficient features with a comfortable and affordable home.  Click here for more information on the Nation’s First Zero Energy Lab Home.
