When people hear we offer more than 60 different floor plans, they think that means there are 60 different ways to lay out a home. The reality is that with a variety of structural options to choose from on each plan in addition to customizing features, an S&A home buyer has hundreds of different layouts to choose from. So, what is the number one most popular feature on all of those layouts? The Morning Room! The Morning Room still remains the most chosen structural option of any that we offer and for a good reason.
It is an automatic kitchen booster – since it is typically located right off the back of the kitchen, it allows for more flexibility with larger island designs, furniture placements and at times, extended cabinet runs. Investing in a growing area is always an important consideration when choosing to build a home. A growing community indicates economic development, investment into schools and a positive return on home values.
One area that fits this bill perfectly is Moon Township, located just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. While you may not have heard of Moon Township itself, you have probably heard of its many world-class amenities. In 2007, it was ranked one of the top places in the United States to raise a family. It is also home to some of the area’s biggest employers such as GlaxoSmithKline and FedEx. Additionally, its residents aren’t too shabby either. While we won’t name names, we can tell you it is home to many of Pittsburgh’s professional athletes due to its premiere location close to I-376, the airport, downtown and some of the area’s best shopping. Owning a home in the suburbs doesn’t need to be boring. Despite the mental image of cookie cutter homes on tiny lots, most neighborhoods in the Pittsburgh burbs are far from this picture. Rolling hills, established tree lines and historic towns dot the landscape outside of the urban city center.
But Sarver’s Mill takes this to another level. Located just 30 minutes from Downtown Pittsburgh, this charming community offers brand new, larger home sites backing to open space in a historic setting. In fact, the community offers today’s most desirable amenities with breathtaking views of the Little Buffalo Creek that surrounds the neighborhood and offers residents a beautiful setting for life and recreation. Well, the dreaded IRS Tax deadline has already passed and May is here. Despite the complaints about the process, it is surprising to learn that more than 80 percent of Americans will actually receive a tax refund this year. While it’s great to have some “bonus” money, wouldn’t it be even better to double your tax refund?
During the month of May, any homebuyer who is in the market for a new home in Centre, Blair, Cambria and Huntingdon counties is in for a better than normal tax return. If you purchase a to-be-built home with S&A Homes in any of these counties between now and May 31, plan to double (actually triple) that return. We will automatically double the tax return due to you and pay you the lump sum of that value when you settle on your new home. Read More→

Last week, our team at S&A Homes was proud to walk away with five Pyramid Awards from the Harrisburg Home Builders Association (HBA). The annual event is actually part of a nationally recognized program that is administered through local HBA chapters to honor the best of the best when it comes to home builders, remodelers and industry leaders in marketing and advertising.
Our Harrisburg region submitted photographs and examples of work for each category in addition to a written narrative outlining the goals for each program and submitted their work earlier in the month to the Harrisburg Home Builders Association. Afterwards, a third-party panel of judges combed through the submissions to make a determination of who won best of the best for work done in 2013. Read More→
