S&A Homes Recognized as Top 100 Builder on BUILDER 100 List

S&A Homes, Inc. was once again recognized as one of the nation’s leading home builders on the BUILDER 100, released this week by Builder Magazine the leading media brand in residential construction.
Builder 100, which is obtained directly from surveys distributed to both public and private home builders, is ranked according to annual closings and gross revenue for new home builders during the 2012 calendar year. Interestingly, the Top 100 Builders recognized on the list closed 167,658 new homes in 2012 which accounted for 44.2% of all new home residential construction closings nationwide, an increase from 2011.
Not only did S&A Homes maintain its status on the list for the second year in a row, the home builder also increased closings 15% year over year, an indication of the company’s strong growth. The company attributes this growth to its focus on delivering a high quality and cost effective homes while obtaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.
“2012 was a shot in the arm for the nation’s largest builders,” said Jean Dimeo, editor-in-chief of BUILDER. “Clearly, builders benefited from improved economic conditions, low mortgage interest rates, and lower land costs. These factors not only allowed companies to organically grow sales, but also expand into new markets that had pent-up demand for new homes.”
Chris Schoonmaker, President of S&A Homes’ Housing Division concurred, saying “2012 provided opportunities for us to open many new communities throughout Pennsylvania and West Virginia.” Schoonmaker was quick to point out that the company’s expansion has not diluted its commitment to the values it holds most important. “We are careful to make sure that our rapid growth in no way cuts into our efforts to continue being the leader in energy efficiency, high quality construction practices and customer satisfaction.”
During 2012, S&A Homes also created 15 new floor plans designed to meet the needs of today’s modern families and concentrated its efforts on opening communities in areas of high demand, such as suburban Pittsburgh, State College, PA and Martinsburg, WV. “We feel confident that strategically growing in areas that have long-term demand potential will ensure our continued growth for years to come,” stated Schoonmaker.
